In this blog post, I will discuss the top 5 ways that AI is transforming high school classrooms.

  1. Personalized learning: AI can be used to personalize learning for each student. This means that students can learn at their own pace and focus on the areas where they need the most help. AI-powered learning platforms can track student progress and adjust the content accordingly. Free examples are: Duolingo (over 30 different foreign languages), Khan Academy, Carnegie Learning, Formative, and Ivy.ai

  2. Grading assignments: AI can be used to grade assignments, freeing up educators' time so they can focus on other tasks. AI-powered grading tools can be used to grade essays, math problems, and other types of assignments. Of course this means having the students submit work electronically. Some free tools are: Gradescope, Turnitin, Copilot, SchoolAI, and AICheatCheck. Note that these can only correct multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, though Turnitin can give initial suggestions on essays and paragraphs.

  3. Virtual tutoring: AI can be used to provide virtual tutoring to students. This is especially helpful for students who need extra help or who are struggling with a particular subject. Virtual tutors can answer questions, provide feedback, and help students learn at their own pace.

  4. Creativity and innovation: AI can be used to foster creativity and innovation in the classroom. For example, AI can be used to create interactive simulations, generate creative text, and help students solve problems in new ways.

From Classroom Farewell to University Adventures: Embracing a New Chapter

Since that time I got a position as a part time instructor at a local university. Same same but different. So now some of my posts will be about my part-time instructor journey, now teaching mostly freshmen some university survival tips through experiential case studies, and teaching research and debate skills.
